Finally, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) released the result in 29 working days. It was announced that 15,292 out of 26,690 (57.31%) passed the most recent November 2014 Nurse Licensure Examination (NLE) which took event last November 29, 2014 in 17 testing sites all over the Philippines, namely: Manila, Bacolod, Baguio, Cabanatuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Dagupan, Davao, Iloilo, Laoag, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Pampanga, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga.
The game of waiting is probably one of the challenges of a nursing graduate after taking the board examination. Since the number of students who take the examination is usually larger than any licensure examinations, it can’t be avoided that as days go longer without any sign of the impending release of results, anxiety is ceiling-high as thousands of hopeful nursing graduates anticipate for the caring license.
November 2014 Nurse Licensure Examination (NLE) was the first examination given by the new set of Board of Nursing (BON) member, namely: Carmencita M. Abaquin, Chairman; Perla G. Po, Gloria B. Arcos, Carmelita C. Divinagracia, Carfredda P. Dumlao, Glenda S. Arquiza and Florence C. Cawaon, Members.
Elijah Catacutan Legaspi of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) rose above thousands of examinees and topped the list with a rating of 86.8%.
Out of 481 nursing schools in the Philippines, 4 shared the first spot of the list of top performing schools. These schools are the following: Remedios T. Romualdez Medical Foundation, Saint Paul University-Iloilo, Saint Paul University-Tuguegarao, and Xavier University, all 4 schools with 100 percent passing percentage as per Commission Resolution No. 2010-547 series of 2010, that is with 50 or more examinees and with at least 80% passing percentage.

Passers are then required to ‘take an oath of professional before the Board or any government official authorized to administer oaths prior to entering upon the nursing practice’ in pursuant to Section 16 of Republic Act 9173.
PRC announced the start of Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certification of Registration on February 9, 2015. Those who would like to register should comply with the following requirements:
- Duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal;
- Current Community Tax Certificate (cedula);
- 1 piece passport size picture (colored with white background and complete name tag);
- 2 sets of metered documentary stamps;
- 1 short brown envelope with name and profession; and
- Payment for the Initial Registration Fee of P600 and Annual Registration Fee of P450 for 2015-2018.
