5th Batch of Nurses and Care Workers for Japan Now Open

The  Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), in cooperation with the Japan International Corporation of Welfare Services (JICWELS) is now accepting applicants for the, recruitment of the 5th batch of nurses and care workers for Japan.

According to POEA administrator Hans Cacdac, the target is to acquire 130 care workers who would undergo a pre-employment orientation before the applicants get interviewed by a JICWELS representative.

Successful applicants will undergo a six-month Japanese language training, shouldered by the Japanese government, to be conducted by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). Additional 6 months of language training will be further administered in Japan. Interested applicants may register at: www.eregister.poea.gov.ph or they may personally submit their documents to the POEA office.

Qualifications include:


  • Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Nursing;
  • With Board License;
  • With at least three (3) years hospital experience; and
  • Must be physically and psychologically fit
  • Preferably 20 to 35 years old


  • Graduate from any four (4) year course and certified as a caregiver by TESDA;
  • Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Nursing (under board) or any allied  profession
  • Must be physically and psychologically fit
  • Preferably 20 – 35 years old

For both positions, knowledge of the Japanese language will be an advantage.

Documentary Requirements include:

  • A detailed resume with one piece 2×2 picture
  •  College diploma (for careworker applicant, diploma should be authenticated)
  • Transcript of Records
  • Valid PRC ID (for nurse applicants)
  • Employment Certificates (for nurse applicants)
  • Valid TESDA Certificate on Caregiving (for careworker applicants)
  • Valid passport
  • Valid NBI Clearance (for travel abroad)

Applications must be made not later than August 17, 2012.
